@Moe41690  If your phone is 5G compatible, it may well be that you are located in an area with no 5G signal. Type in your address in the following coverage map and see if you are in a 5G area. If not, drive to a 5G area and retest your phone. Good luck.

@Moe41690

what phone do you have?? brand and model?? is 5G an option there at the network mode screen??

and make sure you turn off  Data Saving and Power Saving, some phones will only use 4G/LTE if those saving modes are enabled

You need to have a supported 5G phone with the latest OS update.

I have 8 year old SIM and my phone shows 5G+

A "5G" plan refers more towards the data speed recieved more than anything else. You can recieve up to 250mbps using the 4G LTE or 5G networks. Connections to the 5G network depend on local cell tower access to the 5G network and a 5G compatible device.

Much of the current 5G network piggybacks on the 4G LTE network until providers begin to deploy the recently auctioned off 5G spectrum licenses.

Hey @Moe41690

If you don't see 5G, don't worry about it. Just do a speed test. As long as you're getting 5G speeds, that's all that matters. And don't worry about the SIM card, it will work just fine.
