Most banks 2FA via SMS will only work to true mobile numbers. voip.ms lines are considered a land line, so they will not work -- this problem affects every other non mobile service as well.
Though it's less of an issue these days as most banks offer verification via push notification through their app, email or a phone call as well. All three of these I know work with BMO & CIBC for instance...

I had voip.ms for about 7 years and no issues...then a DDOS attack that "they" should have prevented. No phone for 2 weeks .... land line. So I ported over to PM and use a ZTE box. How were you using voip.ms...over an ATA box or on a soft phone app? A signal issue would be a Data or Wifi issue....not a voip.ms issue. voip.ms is not a mobile device.

You are not alone @LilyH . Other members did the same thing without realizing it.
If you want to see how Public Points can be used then refer to these Get Help articles:

Hi @LilyH Voip.ms depends on your data or internet connection .
I think @CountyDownIeUk has it and can comment further

i used to use VOIP.MS a few years ago, the signal is bad at that time so ported my number out at that time.
do you know if VOIP.MS is better nowadays? Thinking to switch to VOIP.MS as i lose my rewards at PM

If some one wants to give up their account with the old rewards...that is what you should be looking for.
Cons....will the giver be ok with losing their number.
Cons.....you would lose your number.
So if you had your current account and an old reward one you could port your number out and that would close your points account. Then port the number you like into the old rewards account. If I was doing this I would use voip.ms for porting out to......to temporarily park the number you want to keep.

One tiny point of clarity but too late for you now but for other readers, if one was on the old rewards system and one never joins the new points system then one stays on the old rewards system. So far.
Most of the regulars here have stayed on rewards as it's definitely better. It's just really unfortunate that some people got "sucked in" to switching with the poor messaging initially and that there's no way back.

@LilyH wrote:If i switch to other carriers and how long i can come back to PM? The old rewards$2,loyalty still exits?
PM does not have monetary rewards anymore. ANY new customer gets into points and then points cn be converted to $ to pay certain things on PM site.
Cancelling your current account and after a while coming back will get you only in points system.
Changing rewards to points was not good option 😞
And if in frustration you opt out of points then you will not be able to return back to points; you will be out of ANY rewards...

YOu can swtich carriers whenver you decided and as many times as you wish. However, there isnt' any way to get the old rewards back.

You can switch out and back within a couple hours. But the old rewards system is longer available to new activations.

Hi @LilyH once you are gone, your old account will be closed. You need to come back with a new sim card, new account and on new rewards system and start reward from zero again

No going back. When it was first rolled out some of the messaging was confusing for some. People thought they had to or something. Then they discovered that there's no going back.

Were there any service suspensions during the past 30 days (and during the previous 30 days)? That would prevent the rewards from coming for the upcoming renewal.

Did you possibly switch to the new points system a couple months ago? Maybe you got confused with the confusing messaging they put out. If you did, there's no going back unfortunately.
