How to purchase and Add-On?

Maiden

For an internet based business this website is still atrocious. No improvement in all the years I've used Public Mobile.

I can not find the link where you actually PURCHASE an Add-On. You go to the page that lists Plans and Add-Ons and after finding it, you have nowhere to go. Why in the world would there not be a link on each and every add-on you list, that takes you to a purchase page!

How frustrating and a waste of my time.

You're losing a loyal customer who has brought you business with each minute I waste looking for the PURCHASE PAGE.

Yes I've been with them a while but I don't go the STATES very often? Its the Add On itself I can not find easily. Now I see you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page after My Account/Plan and Add-ons/My Add-ons.

Frankly its ridiculous.

@z10user4

Yeah, only US option, and International LD is still broken (send back to main menu) .

 @t_p : Since I became more familiar with it, there was only the old 400 minute international add-on (and US). Never the $5 one. Then they changed around the international stuff splitting them all up and adding more. None of that change ever made it into the 611 which is also reflected in the broken international option.

They did manage to change the old US one. I don't know why they can't make the new 300 international take the place of the old international like the US one did.

Oh well.

That's strange. I try to edit and repost a reply but nothing shows up except the title!

Is there a way to completely delete a post?

 @t_p : Have you tried it? The only working option is US calling. Yes US roaming and all data. I'm talking about the "long distance" options.

Re: How to purchase and Add-On?

 @t_p : You're right. I forgot data. When you selected the non-US choice in the long distance option, what did it say?

You also have option to buy long-distance minutes

@z10user4

You definitely can buy minutes and data (200MB and 1gb) add-ons via *611. I just checked.

 @t_p : You can add money in the 611 but you can only buy the US calling and US roaming.

Edit: and data...thanks t_p. I had it in my head that the context was talk.

 I was thinking if you have been with PM for a while, you must have a self-serve account, no?

All the add-ons purchases can be made there once you're logged in. Just make sure:

1) You have enough Available funds (if not, top up first)

2) Pick your add-on and make the purchase.

Or you can do it via calling *611 directly from your phone and follow the instructions.

@Maiden

If you already know which add on you wish to purchase just go to the payment page and add the funds needed to purchase the add on then go to the plans and add on page. Click on the add on you want and scroll down to confirm and submit your payment for the add on., Go to the overview page to confirm that the add on has been added to your account.

@Maiden Public Mobile have changed the site look-and-feel a little since I wrote this guide, but it's still a good step-by-step that could be helpful:  https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Plans-Add-Ons/HOWTO-Purchasing-Add-ons/m-p/198974#M22....

how to Purchase Add-Ons Through Self Serve

To purchase Add-Ons using your Self-Serve account, follow these steps:

  1. Click on ‘Purchase Add- Ons’ on the Overview tab and scroll down to the Add-On calculator.
  2. Click the plus sign (+) to add and the minus sign (-) to remove selected Add-ons.
  3. When you’ve added all your desired Add-Ons, click ‘Buy Add-Ons’ or ‘Make a Payment’ below the calculator:
    • You will see ‘Make a Payment’ instead of ‘Buy Add-Ons’ if there are not enough funds in your account to make the purchase.
    • If you don’t have sufficient funds to purchase the Add-Ons, you will be asked to make a one-time payment equal to the price of the Add-On, less your current available funds. Click ‘Submit’, then ‘Go back’: now the button below the calculator will say ‘Buy Add-Ons’.
  4. Select ‘Confirm my purchase’, and you’re off to the races!

and do rebooting your phone

what is mean for Rebooting the phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

Good Luck

@Maiden...once you log into your account, click on Purchase Add-ons to take you to that page. You might hafta scroll down to see the menu and start your purchase. Remember to add $$ to Available Funds first, then make your selection.

Sometimes, that page does go blank for some reason. Try a different browser. I just tried it with Firefox...works fine.

You can add add-on through 611, purchase a voucher at a local convenience store that sells them, or gas station or London Drugs and add the minutes to your account.

You can purchase an add-on either by calling 611 or in your self serve account.

Click on add-on you want to purchase (+ sign) and then click on

You have to have funds on your account so it is good idea to add some before actual purchase.
