Is it onlly incoming calls that aren't working?  If so, and things such as outgoing calls, data, and text messaging are wokring, a defecting SIM card wouldn't cause that, nor would any amount of taking the SIM card in and out do anything about that. A SIM card is either working and making a connection or it isn't.  As others have suggested, the likelilood of your SIM card needing repacling is very low.

It is a guessing game until we can find out more details... 😁

If the only issue is that you cannot receive incoming calls, but all your other services are working, this is likely not a SIM issue.

Incoming calls are usually the last to port over when going to a new provider.

  • Cell numbers take 2-3 hours.
  • Landlines/voip can take up to 7 days (but usually less).

If this is a new number or a ported number, try:

  1. Doing a RESET of your Network Settings.
  2. If that does not help, can you try your SIM into another compatible phone to see if it works then?

Did you try power off the phone then take the SIM out and wipe the connectors with a microfibre cloth. Reinstall and power up the phone?

If you are porting over from another carrier to PM, did you leave the old SIM in the phone and reply with a YES to the SMS text from your previous carrier that you are porting over to PM? There is a 90 minute window to reply.

If your SIM card is defective, mostly you won't received any CELL Signal at all, so check if you have connected CELL signal with Public. If your phone is Unlocked (or at least compatible with Telus)

If you don't receive incoming calls, it's can be other issue.

Is outgoing calls working?  If so, then it likely not a defective SIM

did you try reseating your SIM (power down, take sim out for a minute before putting it back)

If still fail, try to set your Network to 3G Only for a few days to see if it helps

I agree that more details are required... tell us a story!  (Seriously.)  🙂

Most common, porting/transferring a phone number is the cause of no incoming calls/texts (but outgoing is okay),  This is because porting is a complex process, but nonetheless, we need more details to be able to help.

It is very rare for sim cards to be defective.  Have you tried removing it and wiping it with a cloth ?  Also try rebooting your phone.

More details would be helpful.  Sim card rarely malfunction.  Did you activate new account?  port over number?  Are you able to text out/in?  What about data?   Did calling work before and not now?
