This last couple of days, Google Chrome & Safari say no connection with Data turned on. However, Gmail & I-message are still working on Data?

Hi @Cucumber999 give us more info, are you using iPhone?
Did you try what suggested in the solution?
Did you check My Account to confirm if you still have data??

I’m experiencing the same problem. Have you had any success?

No one has had access to my phone...

@roddyjb : Kids? Friends practical joke?

Cheers, just can't understand how they would have got turned off...

You were right. They were both turned off. They seem to be working now. I certainly didn't turn them off and until your message never even knew that they could be turned off or on.

To simplify matters and thanks to @Anonymous and @darlicious (and unlikely it has to do with the mobile network settings), I've cleaned up and removed my APN stuff. 🙂

@BlueB : I should know better than to step in on Apple thread. Perhaps older iphones have more details but I don't think the 7 does other than hotspot.
@roddyjb : Apple likes to keep their owners blissfully in the dark about anything under the hood. Just enjoy the shiny paint job and slick ads and leave the technical details to them. 🙂 You have a few things to look at so far. Keep us posted.

@roddyjb APN shouldn't matter since you are using Mobile Data on some apps, just not all
did you check Cellar Data - per app is enabled or not for Safari and Chrome ?

This is a big question I don't think was answered yet:
Do your other apps work? ...such as games, productivity, etc?

That post is from 2015 this is a better reference guide from @CalgaryBen .....

I don't have any idea about Proxy or APN settings

Googling it says.....
Basically the same for safari.....

Did this happen after the latest update?

Do you have any proxy settings for Chrome/Safari? Double check in case you need to clear those out. How about other apps - games, productivity, etc? Do those still work?

@roddyjb : Maybe the setting to permit cell data access with each browser got turned off.
Edit: hTideGnow beat me to it

@roddyjb did you turn on Cellular data for Safari and Chrome? Iphone can disable specific app on accessing Mobile Data
1) Launch the Settings app on your iOS device.
2) Go to the Cellular preferences pane, scroll down slightly and you’ll begin seeing a list of apps with toggle switches:

Yes it was working on this phone till a couple days ago...

How does Gmail work but Chrome not work?

@roddyjb you have all the latest updates on your iphone 7?
It was working on this phone before and just start having issues? or you just changed to this iphone 7?
08-10-2021 04:30 PM
I have an Iphone 7
I'm no where near using up my Data
Everything works on WiFi
But when WiFi isn't available this started happening on Data
08-10-2021 04:28 PM
@roddyjb And there is no problem at all when using Wifi?
08-10-2021 04:26 PM
Maybe uninstall and reinstall them?
08-10-2021 04:26 PM
@roddyjb What kind of phone do you have ? you just changed to another phone?
Any chance you have used up your data? Or your device Mobile Data setting might have set a limit and it blocking your data access?
did you try network reset?
08-10-2021 04:25 PM
That's strange... what about other apps. If you're not connected to wi-fi and only on "3G" Data, do other apps work too? What if you switch Wi-fi on (but turn mobile data off)?
