What do people suggest for add-ons when going down south?  Do we only have access to talk time?

Download a voip provider such as textnow. Choose a Canadian number. Before leaving Canada call forward your pm number to your voip phone number. If you have a stopover do not let your phone connect to a US tower (keep your phone on airplane mode until you arrive in cuba). Now your incoming calling will ring thru to your voip provider while on WiFi or with mobile data if you get a local SIM card. You can return calls or text using your voip provider.

Here is info in local SIM cards while in Cuba....

TextNow is an VoIP app that will work on any Wifi or Mobile data.  When you join, you get to pick a Canadian phone number and people just all that number like a number phone.  For you, as long as you are on wifi/mobile data, when people call you , the app will ring and you talk like a phone

Only thing is that, as long as Cuban does not block it, it will work

It's just an app that needs the internet to be useful. So any wifi will work. I would register with a Canadian phone number.

Assuming of course certain countries don't put any limits on internet usage.

Right. And that add-on is only for while in Canada and it doesn't include Cuba.

Excellent deal for travel while in US. PM has nothing available for use outside of Canada or USA (with the add-on).

I’m going to Cuba…the only thing I found was International talk

Out of luck...no roaming in Cuba. Try free voip app TextNow which uses wifi. You can call / text most any Cdn or US number using TextNow and your wifi.

Another option is to purchase a local sim and a cheap plan while in Cuba. Take an old, unlocked phone with you. Only trouble with that is...people in Canada won't be able to call your new Cuban number unless they have a long distance calling plan.

The free voip app like TextNow is a good option for you.

lol I guess obviously Cuba is south but that term makes me think of southern states. ie. sunny and warm.

3G issues are making even the US ones hit and miss, but yes no other options for any other country - so either a local option or voip type app is probably the way to go.

@Violetmwhitney   Sorry, you won't get any service in Cuba, PM only has roaming for US and no where else

You will need to buy local Data prepaid SIM and use VoIP app, like TextNow, to make free calls and text

@Violetmwhitney Unfortunately PM service doesn't work in Cuba. Only Canada and US (with add ons)

Without any 10 day roaming packages, you are able to only receive texts while in the USA.  Not able to send texts, talk or data.

Depends on your needs, you can purchase talk, text and data.

Depends for how long. If a week or two then the add-ons aren't a bad deal. If longer then they start to become expensive compared to getting a local service. The add-ons are talk and text and data. Another option is voip apps that work on wifi or data.

Only 10 Day US Roaming talk / text / data options. They only work for....10 days (240 hrs)

Here is a list of all US add-ons

US Roaming for 10 day packages

Unlimited U.S. Talk, Text and 250MB Data Bundle = $20

Unlimited U.S. Talk and Text Bundle = $15

Unlimited U.S. Talk Only = $8

Unlimited U.S. Text Only = $8

U.S. Data Only for 10 day packages

250MB = $10

500MB = $15

1GB = $20

You don't need to purchase US roaming text add-on to receive incoming texts while in US.

Purchasing add-ons is two step process: add funds and then go back to purchase correct add-on. Make sure to purchase the add-on as close to trip date as the clock starts immediately upon buying and is limited for 10 days x 24 hour period.
