Getting my phone number released

I read my account has to be active in order to have my phone number released to another provider.  Is there a way to activate your account without making a payment?

As stated if you are not porting to telus or koodo then you must reactivate on at least the $15 plan. If you have to reactivate for another 30 days then why not call forward your pm number to your new number with the new provider and test out the service? You may find it doesnt live up to all the hype the salesperson sold you on ? But if it does then around day 25 cancel the call forwarding and port out. Or cancel that provider and schedule a change plan on next renewal back to the plan you were using before with public mobile and you can just continue as before.

HI @Guitarboy   If you have no choice but to reactivate, why don't you reactivate now, use it for 25 days then port out?

But don't try to port out on the very last day of your 30 days, just in case the port didn't go smoothly and it needs more than 1 day to complete

@Guitarboy  - if not porting out to Telus or Koodo, and you are on a higher plan than the $15 one, then first change your plan to the $15 (cheapest plan), add manually add funds to equal the $15 plan amount, then reactivate your Public Mobile service account.

Then you should be able to port out out with out issue.

If you are porting out to Telus or Koodo, then deal with them about porting this Public Mobile number out.

@Guitarboy   No  😞

Where are you going?  The only exception to this is if you are porting out to Koodo or Telus.

If not, then you will have to reactivate your plan.    You can change your plan to the cheapest one first, $15, then reactivate with this $15 plan.  this at least lower your cost

@Guitarboy

PM is a prepaid service.  It is not possible to reactivate your account without payment first.

You can switch to Telus or Koodo service without your PM number in active status.
