Hello,

Today i got my new PM sim card and i put it in and i got ta message says SIM card changed. Restart your phone to start using your new SIM card. To make an emergency call before restarting, tap Emergency Call. I restarted my phone 10 times, took the sim out and then in. I did reset to network but i keep getting the same issue. Data, calling, texting is working fine but the message is not going away at all.

I just ordered a S21 FE too... waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully I don't get this issue as well.

For reference, I saw this on Reddit regarding the same issue. In case if restarting (for the nth time still doesn't work).. factory reset though so not ideal.

SOLUTION : Reset your phone to factory reset and then boot up with the new sim inside you will get a pop up asking you to reset your phone to install new sim while you're setting up your phone, click on it and then your phone will reset and install the new sim card and it will work.

it's likely a software issue for some reason.  Possibly some registration process that only happen for a short time after boot up. If a network lag and missed the timeframe, a reboot is needed.    I googled the issue and there were couple thread about that.  Some confirmed that they need couple reboots.  And OP broke the record 🙂

How can 3-4 reboots solve any problem? Just curious... Usually one reboot is enough? I can understand multiple rebooting after Windows updates but with the phone...????

It's WORKING finally i was about to hit factory reset then the phone restarted and everything is working just fine. So the solution is to keep restarting the phone which i did 17 times.

@mosheba   Try to do a factory reset with the PM sim in the phone.  But before doing so, make sure you backup everything.  Backup your pictures, and backup other info to Samsung Cloud

After the phone is reset, DO NOT restore from the backup yet.  Try to just use the phone without restoring backup from Samsung Cloud.  Reboot the phone couple time to make sure the issue is gone, then restore the backup

I put my sim in my moms phone and it works just fine. I put her public mobile sim in mine and got the same error message.

HI @mosheba

S21 FE is a fairly new phone, so it was working on your old PM SIM card?  Did you try to put another SIM (another carrier) into the phone and see if it gives the same message?

@mosheba  - you got a new Public Mobile SIM card?

SIM SWAP:

Did you lose your previous one and swapping out with this new one...then you performed a SIM SWAP on your Self serve account under the Change Sim Card option?

OR,

NEW Activation?

It almost sounds like you got a new SIM card and just inserted it into a phone without activating it...but you said you have services....Just want to make sure I am understanding.

People talked about it in Samsung Community and Reddit.  Some people manage to get pass the error after a few reboots.  I understand you reboot over 10 times already.

Not sure if you want to try a Factory reset.  But I would make sure the SIM work on another phone before going through the trouble.

First, make sure you back up your phone (pictures all backed up and backup the other info with Cloud).  Then with the SIM in the phone, Factory Wipe and setup the phone with the SIM inside
