Hello PM Community!

Is it possible to pay for PM service using a foreign credit card from Ecuador?

If not, what are some other options for making payments?

Thank You!!

A

@softech

I had my brother in Dallas purchase it and had it mailed to me in Vancouver.

It was only $0.99 usd…$1.36cdn.

Had to go to a Starbucks in Bellingham to activate it through wifi.

Free calling and texting anywhere in the USA on T-Moblie on 4G.

Thanks everyone

Yes, that will work but consider any fee prepaid Visa might have.

You can ask agent to open account for you and make is suspended. Then you apply voucher to pay the bill and continue adding vouchers for future payments.

HI @Abraham1111   Yes, Prepaid Visa has a cost, so it is good to use Vouchers after you activated, voucher has no service charges.  But keep in mind, some vouchers might need 24 hours before it can be used, so, don't leave till last moment to buy vouchers

Good to know that a USA address and financial institution can be used.

When I order my TextNow SIM, they want a US address and US CC.

Funny that TextNow is a Canadian firm.

@BKNS27   So, did you ended up getting the TextNow Sim?  I think in the beginning of pandemic , TextNow offered sim for Canadian briefly.  I always wonder how TextNow sim works, but overall, TextNow charges are not cheap, if you need to buy the add-ons

HI@Abraham1111   If you need to activate, yes, voucher would work but more trouble

Why dont you get a prepaid Visa from store and activate that way?

@Abraham1111   Yes, you can activate with voucher, but with a little bit more work, you need help from PM Support

Here are the steps involved:

  1. Open ticket with PM support by direct message them:
    https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on the top right) after the ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply to you there
  2. PM support reply and ask you for the sim card number, an email address used for the activation (login for My Account).
They will activate the account with the sim card.  The account will have status SUSPENDED.
PM Support will then sent you the login and password.
  3. Once the account is setup, you can login to My Account and load your voucher to finally activate the service.

Thanks. Can the initial account be created with these vouchers?

Only if the address on the CC is registered at a Canadian address.

So I would say no if not.

@BKNS27  not just addres, the financial institution which issued the card also matters:

Remember, we accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and Visa Debit cards that have been issued by Canadian or American financial institutions and are associated with addresses in Canada or the U.S

The C.Card is a Visa, issued in Ecuador. Does that change anything?

@Abraham1111   No, only Canadian and US cards allowed

however, you can use your credit card to buy voucher from recharge.com and then load it via My Account

or you can buy voucher in stores

@Abraham1111

No you can’t use a CC from Ecuador only Canadian CC.
You can use a reloadable CC from any supermarket or purchase a voucher from these locations and dial 611 to enter the voucher number:

You can also purchase an electronic voucher from recharge.ca.
