Understanding the Public Points™ Program

What is the difference between the old Rewards Program and Public Points Program? What do I keep? What do I lose?

For detailed comparisons and what changes to expect, please refer to our current help articles.

How to find this???

Thanks for your reply, I only have a 35-dollar plan, how will that negatively affect me versus having a $40 plan or more?  How many points should I expect to collect on a $35 plan and I take it, they'll accumulate every month till I convert them to cash?

Anyone been looking in to other providers that are cheeper? I have to admit that this doesn't surprise me as this is a Telus company.

HI @andy889

after changing to the new point system, instead of getting $4 off, you will need to pay full $35 monthly, but you will get 5% in points (1.75 points) and you will get 10 point on your anniversary date every year

but of course, those are not as good as $4 off you have now, but still better than nothing

I was at a 35-dollar plan brought down to 31 a month from the rewards, am I going to lose out on the 5% that I would get with a 40-dollar plan, or will I still get 5% on my 35-dollar plan.

HI @andy889

good news is the point won't be back to 0 every month. It will keep accumulating until you redeem it.  Best choice is to redeem for $15 bill credit with 15 points

HI @Theduke sorry, never seen a rewards change is to customers' favour

Yes, bacially you earn less rewards with this new Public Points

So basically my monthly plan is going up 4 dollars in May + increased taxes?

Please let me know of any positives to the points model, it looks like they are just making it more expensive to be with public.

Do the points reset back to 0 every month or will they keep accumulating until I convert them to cash at the 15-point threshold?

Is this generally a good thing? Benefit? Or just another cash grab ftom Telus (the owner of Public Mobile)

Just search through community and you will find out. It has been answered and clarified many, many times.

You lose autopay and loyalty dollars. Referral $ becomes points. On every anniversary you will get 10 points. You will get 5% from your bill payments.
After you collect 15+ points you can manually convert them to $ and pay the bill, buy something, etc.

HI @Theduke

there is no way to keep yourself on the legacy system after May.

for disadvantages, mainly you loss $2 autopay and $5 loyalty.  Only good thing is you still get 5% back in points, ok if you have a plan that is $40 or more.  And you will get just 10 points for anniversary rewards

But your friend rewards will be the same, except it will be in points

also, you need to wait till you collect 15 points , then you can redeem for $15 bill credit
