My monthly cost increased. Is this because of the change to the old Rewards program.

Unfortunately yes. To add to what @Flora2024 said, it looks like we can now only apply every 15 points saved, rather than whatever we had acquired monthly.

No more monetary rewards!
No more loyalty nor autopay nor referral monetary credit every 30 days. Now you get 5% off your bill back in points, 10 points at anniversary and 1 point for every referral. If you participate in Community few more points could be awarded.
When you collect 15+ points you have to manually convert them to $15, it will not be automatic applied toward your bill.

yes, but you can check your reward points and redeem them to bill credit.

more than likely yes. What plan are you currently on? If it's the $25 for 1 GB there is a cheaper and better option at $19 for the same 1 GB but at 4G speed

Yes, it is because of the change to the new points system. Legacy reward customers lost their monthly autopay ($2) and loyalty (up to $5) rewards.
BTW, which plan are you on? If you are on the $25 1GB plan, you should switch to the unadvertised $19 plan for 1GB LTE. You should see this plan in your self service account.
