Cannot connect to 5G

Hi there,

I’ve been on public for a few months now and I have a 5G plan. The entire time I have been unable to connect to the 5G network and my phone is stuck on LTE! I can’t even change to 5G in my phone settings, it’s not an option. I’m in Kingston Ontario if that matters.

@Isafic

did you try using 5G ON and 5G Auto settings?  Try both, but 5G ON would force iPhone to keep using the 5G network

Also, try in different area and see any difference

@Isafic  As well as updating the ios, try turning Airplane mode on for a while and then turn it off again.  Also make sure you don't have low data mode turned on (although I don't think this should stop the option of 5G showing in settings).

If none of that works, contact customer support via this link

@Isafic  And iPhone 12 and up are 5G  is this a Canadian version iPhone not that it should matter . And have you tried rebooting the phone also ensure your iOS is up to date if that didn’t help try reset network settings .

shoukd be at iOS 17.2

Hi, I should have specified that I use an iPhone 12. It is 5G compatible because I had 5G working when I was using an eSIM in Europe.

@Isafic If 5G is not available in your settings, it would seem to suggest that your phone does not support 5G. What phone do you use?
