Calling another public mobile subscriber from Mexico while they are also in Mexico

Hi,

Two public mobile subscribers with CAN-US-MEX plans are unable to call each other while both subscribers are in Mexico. Why is that?

Both subscribers can receive calls from Canada.

Both subscribers can place calls to Canada (by dialling 001<area code><7 digit number>)

I am in Mexico now and found that when calling Canada by dialing 1 and area code and 7 numbers the call would not go through.
but if I dial +1 and area code and 7 numbers the call does go through

HI @snapteeagain

thanks for confirming

But did you try simply calling 1 <area code> <7 digits>   ?

I got it working, the key is to use a + in between the 00 exit code and 1 north american country code. So a number would be inputed as 00+1<area code><7 digit number>. You have to actually dial the plus sign, it does not mean concatenation. Strangely enough, I can connect with a public mobile subscriber who is not in Mexico and is back in Canada by calling 001<area code><7 digit number> (no +) but once they are in Mexico I have to add the + back in (00+1<area code><7 digit number>)

hi @snapteeagain

if you are calling a Canadian number , try to simply call by 1+area code+phone number

also, try calling 00+1+ared code+phone number

people have success using one of the 2 ways
