Ported number from Freedom to Public
Responded YES to text (I mean honestly; has this EVER worked for anyone? I find it ALWAYS fails like clockwork)
It even sent some weird error message about "port auth failure reinstall the Telus app to try again" (and this error is AFTER number has already been ported, so I am in that dual service hell right now. I did try to submit a 2nd request but it now errors out that I cant since number alrready on Public)
Sent email with all details (Freedom + Public) last night and no reply so I called Koodo Port Management and now lets hope for the best
Numbers for refer (in case anyone else is searching on message boards)
Public Mobile Customer Service 1-855-478-2542 (before I started complaining I didnt even know we had a direct number to call!)
Koodo Port Management 1-844-232-7678 (Koodo handles everything with Public, from porting to ccts complaints)

The above isn't correct. Public Mobile does not have any customer service phone number. While the first number is a Public Mobiile number, there is nobody there to answer the phone call. As for the second phone number, once again, that isn't correct. They do not handle all things customers related to Public Mobile.

Less expensive is not always better. However they do offer a $5/ month plan. As I have previously posted - I tried their 15 day free trial and found it painfully slow compared to my PM 4G plan and I was able to hassle free cancel it.

..and add to the fact PM used Bell and Telus network, much more reliable

Bit of a tangent but; Public is (currently) cheaper than Freedom is on every price point
There is not a single plan / promo cheaper over at Freedom (barring some sort of miracle retention plan)
And Freedom customer service is just as poor in my exp. Even if I am ranting at Public this morning for porting and bill credits

Nope not yet
55 minute (and counting) phone call
Its def an IT issue though as she say they need to escalate to Tier 3 support and are "working on it"
*edit 66 minutes, they say confirmation is approved now. Turn phone off, wait 2 hours, then turn back on. Only issue is now I need a new ESIM since old one is junk so hopefully I get that credit back as well

It worked for me, no problem at all. The customer service number you quoted works only for customers who have an account from before 2015 is my understanding. The Koodo number we are not supposed to post in public which is why people say they will send it by private message. It's for very specific porting issues only and not for anything else.

as you found out...porting in to PM is a bit of a... "challenge". As an ex-freedomite, I'm wondering why you decided to come to Public Mobile ? Seems like freedom is being touted as having the best plan choices in the race these days. What was your thoughts ?

there is a porting assistance team you can call and ask for update. I can't post the number here, but I will message the number to your community inbox. Please check and call them
