Hey Community,
Calling all readers, fans of fiction, and novel addicts, it’s Book Lovers Day! Whether you’re into short stories, biographies, or graphic novels, books possess the magical ability to suck you into their own little world. And let’s face it, the more technology has become part of our lives, the harder it is to put down our phones and curl up with a good book. So here are some tips to help get you reading again:
1.Always Have a Book with You
You never know when you’re going to have a few minutes of free time so it’s good to always have a book ready for reading. Whether you’re sitting in a waiting room for five minutes, or commuting on a bus for forty-five, a book is your best friend to replace twiddling your thumbs.
2.Create an Environment Conducive for Reading
Your phone, laptop, and TV are all distractions that can sneakily pull you away from your book. Avoid these traps by reading in a room where you won’t be tempted by technology.
3.Join a Book Club
Going to a book club is a great way to get you reading. Not only will you have people to discuss the book with but they’ll also hold you accountable for keeping up to date with the reading schedule.
4.Stick to Books You Enjoy
Nothing makes reading harder than struggling through a book you find boring. Reading should be fun! Pick up a book that’s impossible to put down.
Hopefully with these tips you’ll get back to being a book wiz! To help you even more, comment below by 12:00 pm ET on August 16 and tell us what you think is the best book of all time and we’ll randomly select three winners who will receive a $50 gift card to Indigo. Happy page-turning! Contest runs August 9 to August 16, 2019. Read Contest Rules before entering.

Currently reading Quit Like a Millionaire by Kristy Shen. Just in the early pages but it goes through her struggles in China and how she saved money to quit her job and become financially independent. Public Mobile is part of my plan to get to financial independence!

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaimen. I've read it, listened to the BBC dramatisation, listened to the audiobook, and watched the show, and they were all amazing! Highly recommended for anyone into dark humour 🙂

I read those with my daughter after the first season of the Netflix show came out. She would have been about 6. They were really great and really pushed her reading ability and her understanding of vocabulary and commonly used phrases.

Well...define best? A certain religious text that goes by the title "The Holy Bible" blows out all best selling competition.
If best book is personal favourite then that would be Return of the King of the The Lord of the Rings series.

Jane Eyre is my most liked book. The author is Charlotte Brontë

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, or Persuasion by Jane Austen. If you have a chance, read the annotated Persuasion compiled by David Shapard. The text runs down one side of the page, and relevant facts about what society and politics were like during that era run down the other page.

To Kill a Mockingbird
by Harper Lee
A classic... but still so good ! 🙂
