I am a new member of PM but it was not easy. During the process to activate a SIM number and to open an account, I got stuck in the activation form. One field, "Alternate contact number" It think it is called, did not work at all. It is a mandatory field and whatever number I was trying to submit was not working. It was not obvious to know where to go to have help. After the activation phase, I was not able to create an account. I had a lot of patience and determination. An agent helped me to create manually the account.   If this company was 2 or 3 month's old, I would understand that some bugs are still in the online forms and web pages, but this company is not exactly new and I would expect that the online processes are bug free, and since this company relies heavily on online self-serve, the online processes would be easy to interact with, avoiding entering the same information twice where it is as possible (I am referring to the activation form and the account creation form for example). The whole thing should be easily, without relying to agents to provide help and to fix manually those processes.   All the details should be taken seriously. One detail being that when a customer is in a province (other than the default province on top of the page) and the customer changes the province from Ontario to Alberta for instance, during the subsequent visits of that same customer, the application should be able to remember the province of that customer (remember me). Another detail is that at some time, I had to send a private message to an agent, I had to ask how to do it, until an agent told me where an icon of an envelop was, a tiny icon in a corner of the community page, that is barely visible and drowned with the other informations on the page.   I could continue like that again and again, and if you want me to point out other areas where a lot of improvements would be needed, I would be glad to do so. Those basic processes should be seamless, bug free and with a special care of how customers interact with the system. Unfortunately, many potential customers would simply give up after the first bug that they encounter. Why not just come out with a one single size Sim card so when I person orders one they can pop out what ever size is needed for there phone. This will bring your cost down. ... View more

There has been a lot of discussion about how to make the knowledge base and forums more user friendly for the new customer.  If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video should be worth a million words.  I suggest perhaps Public Mobile make videos and post them online showing all the steps involved right from ordering a SIM card to having the service up and running.   ... Since CRTC ruled on the Videotron thing BUT not yet on Data Caps, Perhaps PM should try to offer Higher Data for better Fees, and also MORE Add-On Data, Would perhaps create and foster better terms. Not exactly Unlimited Data, BUT if PM can have MORE Data options, LIKE 2,4,6,8 GB for 30 Day terms   6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 GB for 90 Day   make a 150 or 180 day term, with better pricing, and perhaps this may help address lack of options PPL may want.   Add-On should be: 250, 500, 750 MB 1, 2, 3 GB  These should be Add-On options   Just saying, though PPL want No frills, If certain ones are ignored, could stint or curtail growth of carriers, which I think would be a negative one, We absolutely need more options.    The Model PM currently has, is perfect, all DIYS model   Why not have all sorts of Options and still be able to retain that model ... We all know the idea that buying in bulk is typically cheaper. So why not pay for our plans in bulk? In the US they have vendors like MintSIM that provide their plans in bulk options of 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month increments. With further options regarding how much data you receive per month. Public Mobile already has the option of 3 month (90 day). Why not extend the idea of bulk buying to increase plan savings? 😀 ... View more

I have been noticed lots of users having issues when adding add on mostly user who are new to public mobile or user who never add addon before and adding addon before going on a business or pleasure trip to out of province or out of Canada I think Pm should make adding addon process simple and easier by simplifying to 1 step process if I am already a user with plan and want to add addon either for u.s roaming or long distance it's should be simple 1 step process. Like once you select a addon according to user requirement they can just just a cc or voucher and buy it by single click instead of money transfer to available fund then user buy from available fund at this step lots of user get confused because they also think they already paid for addon but it's not showing up in their add on section I think Pm should do something about it everyday Their users problems adding add on and mod getting private msg regarding addon issues I think either they can make a one step process or at least when user buy addon send them a details process how to buy add on and explain a whole 2 step process so there will be no confusion summers Season at the corner now more users will be adding add on. Hi   I could refer many different people to Public Mobile, if I were able to do it in a way that doesn't require me giving out my phone number or other personal information.    Would love to see some kind of referral code that could be given out, something random (XGRBJUVX) or something specific (Crackmacs), kind of what like Uber has. I really don't see a downside to referring people that aren't close personal friends, so long as they pay their bill ahead of using the service - which is the whole idea with PM.   Please implement that. ktnx ... The current roaming plans are a step in the right direction, but the best model for prepaid roaming is what Koodo Prepaid offers:   These packages work similar to the existing minutes or data package Public offers so customers would be familiar with the tracking and adding in my account. They are also more aligned with prepaid type services. Koodo Prepaid and Public Mobile are powered by the same back-end system and user interface so such an implementation would not present any technical issues. This would allow customers who casually travel to the US the ability to conveniently continue to use their phone number and services without having to check everytime before they depart to make sure things are in order. ... Along with a letter reminding us all about the referral discount, and maybe a brochure of the plan options and promotions, and an activation/porting guide that we can all give to a friend with the sim card. Super cheap way to get new activations. Your happy customers are your best source of free advertising. In a month, you could track which of those sim cards had been activated on new numbers and then either from that data, or the data you get from the numbers entered in the 'who referred you' field, you could send out more free sim cards to all those who actually referred someone. ... For the short term until we see a new SELF SERVICE portal, on the Usage History page you are already outputting the data to a table, Please create a EXPORT to CSV option.   This way We can download our data, sort it by SMS/DATA/CALLS This would be a SIMPLE addition that would take a programmer no more then 1 day to complete with debug testing.   PS/ For anyone that doesnt know what CSV is, this allows you to open up in Microsoft Excel, or Google Sheets for example.   Thank you. ... I realise that PM is in the process of revamping the Public Lab and forum generally. One thing I'd like to see is an area that would be considered "Off-topic" or more for socialising. Especially in times when there are few issues going on, it is enjoyable to post random thoughts - sometimes relevant to the cellular device world, other times relevant to prehistoric worlds - either way, it helps maintain community vibrance and cohesion.   Currently the "Discussions" board is the place for such musings, but it might help to make it more obvious with a name like "Social corner", "Off-topic", or something more clever... ...
