I have been advised by a friend in Mexico who had sent me a message which was received by a person living on Vancouver Island. This person texted my friend back advising him that he was not John. I am not sure what is happening and would appreciate your assistance.

is this a new phone number you pick? 

if you call your number from another phone,  is the guy on Vancouver island picking up? or your phone rings?

to open ticket with CS agent:

at : https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.

First type Contact,
then select the only choice there: "Contact..",
from the list of , choose "Other"
finally click link the blue link about submit a ticket
Another page will open and just follow: .

After ticket is submitted, make sure to check your Community Inbox(top right corner envelope icon) periodically for response from PM

If you have problems submitting a ticket, you can open ticket by private message (but this can take longer):

To remove your number, go back to your post,click the down arrow on top right , there is a choice to modify post, remove the phone number.

honest, from OP's original message, it does not make sense.  I don't know who owns that number (is that OP's number? OP's friend's number? or a 3rd person?).

which was received by a person living on Vancouver Island.

and where are you located? 778 -239 belongs to Vancouver and Rogers (but may have ported to PM?)

This person texted my friend back advising him that he was not John.

Your Mexico friend....mistyped number or is sure what number was texted??

Please remove phone number from your post.

Most likely your friend made a typo and his SMS ended up at another number.

Text him and let him reply on your SMS.

HI @JohnR   To be honest, it was a bit confusing with your situation.

So, your friend in Mexico got a text from you but you didn't send the text?

Can you explain further?

@JohnR  You need your phone number to be removed.. or you’ll get more people looking for John..this is a public forum for all to see.. lol.. maybe the didn’t type in the correct number?
