@Kirkmc1234 , it hasn't been mentioned so I will clarify that all plans have access to the 5G network, even the 3G speed plans. I hope you did not get a 5G speed plan just so that you can connect to the 5G network. Having said that, the 5G speed plans do have a higher speed cap (250 mbits/s vs 100 mbits/s for 4G speed plan) for what that is worth and comes with unlimited throttle data.

@Kirkmc1234 yes I know same with Telus sim card in the s20 will give you the 5g option . However there is work around but involves flashing firmware on your s20 have a look at this thread about the s20 and the solution to get the 5G option

hi @Koala_on_tree you are lucky to have 5G for S20. There seems to be a carrier or Samsung issue blocking 5G on S20 series
but true, speed on 4G could be same as 5G and the 4G coverage is still bigger, so not bad to stay 4G

PM 5G is bad compared with 4G. I can use 5G however, the speed is worse than 4G. So I have to use 4G network instead of 5G. Consider changing to Virgin plus next year.

Yes its S20 5G. I just switched from bell and had no problem with 5G there. Now only LTE

Yea, mine too. I've had it for 2 years now. Sorry no 5g service this phone. Samsung's fault.

@Kirkmc1234 Is this a Samsung s20 by any chance ?? If so it’s known issues for 5G with PM just have to use 4G/LTE and you should still see better speeds of 100 mbs of 4G plan with phone set to LTE do speed text to confirm
Speed test
