Well kinda.. the problem has been solved. Things worked for about a month that we have been

here yuma arizona ..then both phones just stopped ..talk  only..even T.mobile here in yuma could not
get them to work .....as far as we can tell T.mobile has been shutting down there towers (in not a techy person ) SOLUTION  if we drive 2.5 miles to the mexican border the phones come alive
and work again..the network comes up as( TELCELL.)..EVERYTHING WORKS LIKE NORMAL..
we are only 2,5 miles  from the border so it is an inconvenience but we now have phone service....

@Kim34   both phones are on auto connect ...and are on lte/wcdma/gsm

About the only thing you can try is to take it off auto and set it to 2G if you have that option, and manually try T-Mobile.  If there's no T-Mobile 2G in your area then you're pretty much left with a voip app like TextNow or Fongo for voice calls (they will work with data or wifi but the downside is you'd have a second phone number) .  In the USA a phone needs to have VoLTE (voice over lte) because they have no more 3G networks there since 2022 and a non-VoLTE phone needs to use 3G for phone calls as it can't make them over LTE.  Everyone in the USA had to replace their phones if the ones they had were not VoLTE capable or approved by their US carrier.

hi @Kim34

both S9+ and S20 ultra are not VoLTE compatible with PM network

so, for voice, your choice would be to use app like Whatsapp to make calls or use VoIP app like TextNow.  TextNow will give you another 10 digits number so people can call you like regular phone and you just use TextNow to receive and make calls with your data connection (or Wifi)

all data works ....its just the voice calls ...both of our phones are doing the same thing ..we can not call out ( it gos through all the motions but will not connect.) the phones are a (galaxy s9+) and ( S20 ultra ) data roaming is turned on in the phone.

@Kim34   Is nothing working, or is it just voice calls?  If it's a non-VoLTE issue your texts and data should still work.  If your phone is not VoLTE capable or approved yet it worked for a month and a half you may have been on T-Mobile's 2G service but it is being, or has been, shut down as of September 1st.  Perhaps it is being decommissioned at different times in different areas.  We can help more if you tell us what phone you have.  Try T-Mobile again with the phone set to 2G (or 3G if you don't have 2G since some phones seem able to connect to 2G if set to 3G) and see if it will connect.   Also it shouldn't make any difference to voice calls but make sure data roaming is turned on in the phone.

What phone do you have? Possibly it's not VoLTE compatible with Public Mobile, as noted above.

Also just a side note, but none of the roaming plans offer unlimited data. If you're referring to unlimited calling, that is true.

@Kim34  Try phone set to 4G/LTE not 5G and try the different roaming partners again see if that helps , also note if your phone is not on the PM voLTE whitelist making calls will be difficult and you have to rely  on phone set to 2G/3G and connect to T mobile if that doesn’t work you can download text now app or what’s app for voice calls
