iPhone SMS via satellite

Does anyone know if PM supports the new iPhone messages via satellite? (not iMessage but SMS to non-iPhone users over satellite). According to Apple, it's carrier-dependent

and yes,  the carrier has to be on board to have it work, and PM  is on

I've read a couple reports of people saying the SMS over Satellite feature worked for them on Public.

The satellite connect is for SOS and you will need the latest iOS 18.0.1 and newer iPhone with dynamic island.

@jor123  Way I understand it is you can be off the grid with no cellular service and request help if out in the woods with iPhone satellite messaging . Don’t think it’s has anything to do with the carrier your with ,but you need iPhone 14 or latter to do so
