your account with old cell provider must be paid up, in order to port your number in to Public Mobile. Once you successfully port in to Public Mobile, you old account will automatically be deactivated.

Transferring your number is easy as long as you are in good standing…it will be automatic when you sign up with a new carrier

you meant you cannot transfer you phone number so you want to cancel the subscription?
check with PM first, maybe they can help and you don't have to cancel
