- Anyone else have this problem since Oct 2024? Uploads are resulting in quadrupling of file size. 2.95GB YouTube upload recorded as 12.4GB. 5pg document recorded as 1.4GB. Can't get pas Public's AI gate keeper. Useless Telus system.

The phone is android and data doesn't get used if Mobile Data is toggled off. I want him to rely on the wifi when at home. The only explanation would be if the tab was switched to ON

Thanks, I did that already and it still showed 69mb/250mb after the text warning. That's why I went to PM Community. I just checked and those missing mb finally got updated.

when you said app shows used 69Mb, you were referring to Public Mobile app? try drag screen down to force update , it will show you more updated usage
and check the data usage on your phone

I have the most basic plan for my son. 250mb data and 2 days ago the PM app showed he used 69mb. Today, he reached his limit. The app shows no big usage since 2 days ago. What is going on?

@RonMorey I think as phones get better with better quality recording and then when streaming videos off you tube with higher quality video it’s gonna eat up more data especially if it’s been recorded in 4K and streamed in 4K only way to combat it would be to turn your resolution down to 1080P or 720P help data consumption

hi @RonMorey my experience with PM over the years is that the data tracking was generally accurate
but since you have problems with it, ask PM support to check.
And instead of the AI, easiest way is to open ticket with PM support is to use direct message using this link

Support will reply via Community inbox here within 2 to 4 hours:
