data turns off when not connected to wifi

The data on my phone is not on or available unless the phone is connected to wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Depending on what reward sprogram you are on if you are leaning towards say a 1GB add on, you cns actually redeem points and get it at a 33% discount

Teaching moment.....ensure the data tracker is set to the correct dates. Use the data warning and limiter and explain how it all works to your kid. Show them how to turn background data off and video content off apps. Then let them have at it and learn how to manage their data each month. Use it all in the first week oh well.....MMS still works because it doesn't use plan data it's sent thru a separate server.

This is the beauty for PM.  No surprise billing.  Best if you have kids who have no control of data   🙂

 

You can buy extra data add-on, could be pricey, or you can upgrade your plan with more data.

Better yet, a chance to educate kids to limit the data use.  LoL

Phone with That SIM whoever has it with PM account should receive SMS from PM when 75% of data is used.

You can always check on-line how much is left. Being on mobile data all day (particularly kids) can eat your data allowance in no time.

Consider plan with more data or use WiFi whenever you can.

PM has no data throttling. When you use all plan allowance and if you have any data add-on Internet just stops.

I doubt you would like huge bill for data over the limit...

If you have an iPhone  you have to update your carrier profile to use mobile data. You do this by connecting to iTunes. If you have an Android phone that has not done this automatically when you first inserted your pm sim card then you have to edit your APN. If you tell us the make and model of your phone and the OS you have it will help us troubleshoot if you are having difficulty editing the APN.

I think I've discovered the problem! My kid used up all their data for the month. I never even thought to check that. Most companies just bill you for what you go over.

You meant you cannot use Internet unless you are on Wifi?

 

What kind of phone is yours? 

 

First check if your "Mobile Data" is enabled

Also check your APN settings or Carrier settings:
