@KarenUnderwood if you are ok, use that other credit card for now, make the payment first.
Wait at least a day before you try to update it back to the other one. If still does not work, you might need to open ticket with support for further investigation

The website would not let me update my card and I had to use a different card

Can you elaborate why you think whatever is happening is related to "automatic bill payment not working"?
There could be other reasons for whatever it is you may be experiencing... let us help determine that.

Either your credit card has expired, or you do not have enough money in your account to have it go through.

is your PM services working right now ? If so, it could be your plan is going through regular renewal process.
If your PM services aren't working...that's something else.
