Xiaomi phone cannot access LTE or 5G, and post "marked as spam"

Hi I just posted this but it was somehow "marked as spam" so I am putting the screenshots here. Also, as I am new to the community, how do you avoid being marked as spam while describing your issues normally?

The Public Mobile VoLTE compatibility list is here, but keep in mind it's not a complete list so some devices that aren't on the list may still work. https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/volte

@softech Thank you again from the explanation, you are right - NSG sometimes show a brief jump onto LTE and then falls back to 3G 😂

@jvhs0706

for having a stable 4G connection you should have as many compatible bands as possible.  Having just one band on 4G won't give you a stable connection at all.  You might get a brief connection at one spot (if that cellular tower happens to have band 5), but once you move away, your connection would drop completely

Seems that there are some fixes that I may consider but I shouldn't really expect them to work... The use of iPhones is almost mandatory if I don't want to buy the international versions of Chinese android phones which are 2x expensive here than in China😂

Hi thanks for the prompt reply, and my follow-up question may be stupid as I am not really familiar with communications - could you please explain in which sense 4G "won't work"? Also is it because b4/b66 is needed?

FYI I am in Waterloo, Ontario.

The forum filter does automatically mark some posts as spam, there's no way to tell if your post will trigger it beforehand.

Public Mobile does have a whitelist to access services such as VoLTE and if your phone isn't on the list it may be disabled even if the device can technically support it.

I have to post my reply in screenshot, too (too many numbers and the system treats that as a possible information leak -- worries that someinformation like phone or credit card numbers posted)

**correction to above:

you have a compatible band on 5G, the n78.  But PM needs b66 more than b78.  So for most locations, you won't see 5G on your phone with PM, too
