Will an older Samsung Galaxy A71 phone work on PM with a 5G Canada/US plan

I have an old Samsung Galaxy A71 phone that I was wondering if it will work on a 5G Canada/US plan, the phone only supports 4G speeds

Just a reminder that the '4G' and '5G' in the plan names only refers to the speed limit applied to the plan. All plans get access to connect to the full network of 3G, 4G and 5G where available.

As others mentioned, the key right now is to make sure that Public will support your phone using VoLTE as that is quickly becoming required to make calls, it is already required to make calls in the US.

@Bruce_H while A71 will work well with PM's 4G and 5G network, please confirm if PM allows this phone to use VoLTE, this is critical for voice calls as PM will decommission it's 3G voice services within 2 years

@Bruce_H yes you can use a 4G phone on a 5G plan.  The A71 is compatible
