Will US roaming work for me?

Phone is Galaxy A8 2018. No VoLTE I believe.

Will voice work?
Is PM still using 3G for voice roaming in the US?

Will texting work?

Will data work?
If so, I can use WhatsApp.

T-Mobile is shutting down their 2G network on April 2, so there'll be no options any more for non-VoLTE phones in the USA since 3G was shut down in 2022.

It's my understanding that the 3G network in US has been shut down, no longer available. Without a volte enabled phone, customers phone must be able to drop to 2G to complete their call and only on the T-Mobile network.

Text will work, only phones older than 2015 might have problem

Data will work for sure.  Since data work, Whatsapp will work too

Everything will work EXCEPT w/o a volte enabled phone, calls will be using their 2G system. It's not great but that's what is available for talk. Consider using a VOIP app such as textnow for talk in US...it uses your free wifi available in most motels, cafes etc.
