I keep my cellular data off. Not off with the 'master switch' but every app has it individually off. I just noticed every night between 12:01 and 12:03 about 4MB are being used. I only have 250MB total, so I'm curious where this is going.
Any insight would be awesome, thank you!

I don't quite follow the thinking. The usage is the same in incognito.

Login using secret/incognito mode. What's your current usage?

Okay, that makes sense. A little misleading though, as I thought the purpose of the chart showing such things was to tell you when data was used.
But that doesn't explain why data was being used at all. I have had my data off for the past four days and I'm still getting this usage.

Ever since our self serve accounts were redesigned and launched on July 13th there are more glitches than ever. I activated an account for a referral and had the Sim card overnight until we could meet up and low and behold I recieved the errant data usage texts in quick succession.
Personally I never rely on nor have I ever recieved data usage texts from public mobile. This is mainly from the fact that I have accumulated many free data add ons that far exceed my plan data (250mb). Data usage texts are sent out based on the entire data on your account...both plan and add on data. Instead I set my data management tools to keep track of my data usage. I set my data warning to 25% of my plan data and my data limiter at 50% and reset as needed. If you do the same and once you reset to 75% of plan data you can fairly accurately determine whether or not the data usage texts are real or sent in error. That and checking your account too....of course.
Keep in mind pm uses approximately a 5.3mb buffer that resets nightly or by enabling airplane mode. Pm used to update in two 12 hour blocks shortly after midnight eastern. But now I find these two data usage updates can be time stamped at almost any time of day? Put no credence in their time stamp just that they are showing your usage for the previous day's 24 hours.

This happens to me all the time too! Curious to keep following this thread. I also will get several messages, usually the day after my phone cycle resets (ie a new month) and it says I have used 95% of my data, even when I keep my data on most of the apps to wifi only.

The data used in a 24 hour period only gets posted to the account twice daily.
Once around noonish for data consumed in the preceding 12-hour period, and the second time just after midnight for the preceding 12- hour period.
The time it's posted doesn't mean that's exactly when it was used.

@Aliuh Hi it is because Public accumulates your data usage early in the morning

For some reason that hadn't occurred to me. I'll give that a try.

Public Mobile's Self Serve accounts only show data-specfiic usage details at set intervals. It doesn't mean that the data use occured at that time.
