 @Anonymous : What you _could_ have said through the flow of the thread is :
When you do get a new valid card.....

Just slamming down a copy/paste is meaningless and of no help to anyone in the context of the thread. Each thread. They frequently have a different feel.

Just another in the long list of mis-interpretations from this user. And that they don't walk back or correct or acknowledge. Or even...or even...to use couch words like maybe, possibly, what if, perhaps etc. Particularly when we're all grasping at possibilities because the OP can't be bothered to participate in the back and forth.

The customer's card is expired. None of the above steps will allow anyone to use an expired credit card.

Public Mobile has no choice for this matter. Your card being expired means that your card issuer will decline any transaction.  This means that Public Mobile would not get paid.  When you say that yoru card still has funds, I can only assume that you mean that is a prepaid card. A prepaid card with funds reminaing do have expiry dates for the purposes of processing, but if you contact the issuer, they will change the expiry date for you.  Until that's done, you'll have to use a different payment method.

I've seen that for mail-in-rebates that mail a prepaid credit card as the rebate payment. The terms always say that balances do not expire but that the card has an expiry date because it's required for security reasons when you're trying to use the card, and that if your card's expiry does pass, you need to contact them for them to change the expiry date for you.

@Madsweeney

Are you trying to activate a SIM card with an expired credit card?

Sorry, this should not allow you to do this, since the provider needs to authorize a payment, but should not allow it on an expired card.

Or, are you an existing customer and trying to change your plan through your Self Serve account?

I don't think any place will take expired card.

Especially for PM, it is a service provider and expect to charge your card monthly (every 30 days to be precise) , it's not a place for one time purchase like Walmart,  of course they won't take an expired card.   You might have fund now, but it will be used up one day for sure.  And it expired, what happens after the fund are all used up?

I think is is fair for PM not to accept any expired card, whether it has fund or not

 @Madsweeney : Whatever you have going on with some kind of piece of plastic...if it's expired then it's done. Take up your pleas with the card issuer.

Are you using something like a Vanilla Prepaid Visa Card?

@Madsweeney  is that a CC?  don't you have a new card with a new date?

@Madsweeney   depends on what you meant by you have fund on it.  If you have Fund on My Account as Available Fund and enough to cover the plan renewal, it really doesn't matter.  But if your Available Fund not enough and it trigger the credit card payment, then it will fail and your plan will not renew.

You can keep your expired credit card there as long as you have ways to add fund on it.  You can add voucher or use Instant retail top-up.

And no, if you need the to add an expired credit card on My Account, it won't work.  The page error checking will simply error out and won't allow you to submit

@Madsweeney

You can have an expired card for collecting the autopay reward but any payment will fail if its used. You would have to pay by voucher. Once the card is removed you cannot add it back.

If your credit card has expired and it is not updated then you run the risk of your service being stopped due to no payment being made.
