There's several things to suggest and try before sending message to CSA for their help. Not that you're wrong...just to prevent unnecessary PM resouces, wise to try other fixes first.

you meant press and hold 1 does not dial to VM?
try to click Reset All networks and it will program the key
if that does not work, go to Dialer, settings and manually program this to voicemail number
