Using an old simcard

While trying to set up my account, they're asking for my SIM card #, they're expecting 19 digits but mine has 28. Am I going to have to order a new one to be compatible with public mobile? If so, am I able to carry my current number forward?

@DJangula

You have to have a brand new, unused Public mobile SIM card to activate a PM account.  When you activate your SIM card, you can request that your number to be ported from your present carrier.

Here is some additional information:

@DJangula

the official PM sim has a 19 digit series of numbers. Are you certain yours is a Public Mobile sim ?

@DJangula  Yes you need a specific Public Mobile sim card to sign up here.  All providers have their own sim card, they are not universal.  You can get one from a Telus/Koodo store or Amazon.  You can also order directly from Public Mobile but they can take a while to be delivered.  Yes you should be able to carry your current number forward in most cases.

@DJangula if the old SIM card belongs to an old account you used to have with PM you cannot reuse it, you will need to get a new SIM card. You can get one for $10 at a TELUS/Koodo or Mobile Klinik store or you can order from Amazon for $5 and if you have a Prime account it will ship for free within 1 or 2 days
