Unable to use data

Hi everyone, I recently got a sim from public and activated it. But so far it's been almost 5 days and I am still unable to use my data. When I turn on the data function the 5G logo flickers on and off and can't get a stable connection. Same thing happens when I set it to LTE. 3G works but it won't connect to the internet. I get a message saying "Could not activate cellular data network" I have contacted support but keep getting the runaround of them telling me to reset network settings, turn my phone on and off, try re-installing the esim but nothing works. They also tried resetting something on the backend. I'm using an iPhone 14 pro max. Has anyone had this issue before? Any help is appreciated! Thanks

Doesn't work anywhere I went around my commute to work (Around 20 min drive) so I assume it's not a local tower issue

Hey @Pola888, are you using a physical SIM card? If so, are you able to test with another cell phone by inserting your PM SIM? This would help in determining if your issue is with your phone specificly.

Is the data instability issue local to an area around you or it is like that no matter where you go in the city.  I am thinking maybe there is a local cell tower acting up.

Me too, it's not very new but It was working perfectly with Freedom (Carrier I had before) so I don't think it would just suddenly stop working with Public. I got it from apple directly so I know it's unlocked

@Pola888 , it is the same network connection that is used for calls, text and data.  I am stumped on why data does not work while talk and text is fine.  Is this phone new out of the box?  I am wondering if there could some sort of issue with the phone.

I'm definitely sure it's not a signal issue as I'm in Mississauga and have another family member who uses public as well with no issues whatsoever. It's weird. I can make and receive calls as well as text but just have problems with data

@Pola888 , are you located in an urban setting or rural?  Perhaps use this cell map to check the coverage in your area.  Unstable connection could mean poor local coverage.  In some parts of the country, Telus uses Bell towers so if you see no Telus towers in a large area and only Bell towers, it means they are tower sharing.

hi @Pola888 first try Reset All Networks and see if it helps

And , can you tell us what phone you have??
