Unable to place call from USA

I am not able to place or receive a call from USA after adding USA Roaming and long distance call for USA add-ons. Please suggest.

@Phil_Adelphus I read that to mean they aren't able to place outgoing calls or receive incoming calls while in the US.

I'm not aware of a way to delete posts, unfortunately.

@DennyCraneThank you, yes I saw the title after I posted, it was off the screen when I wrote.  I went into Edit to see if I could delete the post but didn't see that option so I added that bit about the title.  I don't know if deleting the text from a post also deletes the post?  In some other forums it just leaves the user name and then a blank message.  Where I was confused with the body of Darshna's post that it refers to receiving calls "from" the USA rather than within.

Are you actually in the USA or are you trying to call and receive to/from USA while still in Canada?  I guess from the title you are in the USA  now?

You need to double check your add-on's to make sure you got the right one. If you can post a screenshot of it here, that would be helpful.

You do not need a long distance add-on for use in the US; that's only for use in Canada, to call the US. All you need is a US *roaming* add-on with calling (there are different versions, and not all include calling). If you got the roaming add-on with calling, then it includes calls to Canada and the US, and of course incoming calls.

Next, what phone do you have? Some older phones may not have VoLTE, which may cause problems with phone calls in the US.

important thing is does it show connected to AT&T or T-Mobile? Make sure it is connected to either network before you try making the call

you sure you got the US roaming Talk/Text addon?

Please try to make the call by putting a 1 in front of the 10 digits, or try without as well

Since you have wifi, if you need to make the call first, download VoIP app TextNow, free app to call US and Canada for free.  So, make free calls using the App until problem is resolved

No, you do not need long distance add on for USA.  You just need 15 day roaming package.

Do you see the US add on in your self service account? 

A few trouble shooting advice:

Reboot phone.  Enable roaming on your phone. Manually select T mobile carrier.  If not available, try AT&T. 

When dialing try +1 in front of area code.

do you see your phone connects to T-Mobile or AT&T?

if not, please change the network connection to Manual and manually pick T-Mobile and AT&T, try both

When you are on T-Mobile, you might also want to try changing the network mode to 2G only

@Darshna make sure your plan is Active.

Turn your phone off completely, then turn it back on. This sometimes help get connected to the right network.

You an also try a reset of your device's network settings.

Where are you in the USA? This can affect services too.

Edit, fyi...you only need ROAMING addons whilst in the USA; AND it has to have a calling aspect to it. Does it?

That regular usa long distance is only while in Canada.
