I’ve been in the US for two days and my service has been practically non existent. I can’t get through the ticketing service, I keep getting an error. How am I supposed to resolve a service issue if there is no way to contact public mobile?

Hello @Pcam
Just want to confirm, did you purchase a US Roaming package? If so, then you need to go into your network settings and choose T-Mobile then reboot. You should be up and running then.
iPhone - Settings - Network Settings - Mobile Data (make sure it's turned on) - then on same screen, Network Settings - turn off automatic and choose T-Mobile - Then reboot.
Android - Settings - Connections - Mobile Networks - Network Operators - Select Manually - Choose T-Mobile - Reboot phone

If possible, put your phone to 4G/LTE and connect to T-Mobile or AT&T.
If calls still don't work, put your phone to 2G and connect to T-Mobile. From the settings menu, turn on data roaming.
To connect to public mobile, see link below.
