US Roaming not working

what a waste. Before heading down south, i did the US roaming add on for $20. My card was charged. During my all day driving i never got any text, voice or data available to me, even though i needed these so much. i dont know whats going on. (My account at this time shows a balance of $20 after it used up my $6 for my auto pay credits). Still no roaming available...  need help in understanding what happened here.

Did you read the entire thread? I started along the path you did, and I realized (independently of this thread), that it wasn't an APN or connection issue, but a lack of payment issue. The initial $20 was applied to the account, but not the add-on. If you go back to your account, you can apply the $20 account credit to the add-on.

I tried PMing one of the moderators, but wanted to check if ayone else could help as well.


Have tried everything I could find in the forums:

1. Reset phone.

2. Checked account to ensure data roaming was purchased AND then applied to my account.

3. Manually set carrier to ATT, then T-Mobile

4. Checked APN settings

5. Swapped SIM cards with my husband's phone. His SIM was able to perform data roaming in my phone, but my SIM didn't allow data roaming in his.

 

Is there anything else I can do?

I believe this fixed my problem as well! Thanks for describing this 2 step process. Would have saved me a lot of grief if I checked the community immediately.

Yes, it appears to be a 2 step process.  Then you sometimes have to search network operators on your phone and select either T-Mobile or AT&T. 

We just got back from Vegas and it worked fine with my wife's phone.  Unfortunately it triggered the "Account suspended" bug and when I messaged the mods to fix that, they reset the account which eliminated the US addon.  So we got through the last couple of days with no addon.  I had a US sim for my phone which I could use for calls/texts so we survived.

Well after waiting for a solution from moderators and sending PM a support request, and not finding any solution, i went in to my account and added the US Roaming add on ($20) again, and this time it was successful. And this time the amount taken as payment was my funds available ($20). my card was not charged again.

 

Seems to me its a two step process to do the US Roaming Addon, at the least...

 

1. Do the addon, the payment is taken out of the credit card and put in your funds.

2. Do the addon again, the funds in your balance are used this time, and the Addon is added for real this time.

 

Odd !!!

They charge taxes on top ups but not when you pay for the service. Explains the 15.82 charge for 14 dollar top up.

I guess, instead of applying the amount taken out of my credit card to give me the add on, it was deposited in my account. As well, the money that was taken out was like $15.82 but only $14 was put in my account to give me a balance of $20...

@salhu  This has been a common bug with the Addon.  You pay the addon price and that money then goes to your available funds.  You then need to go back in and "purchase" the addon again and it will take the money from your available funds amount.

IF it shows the balance of  $20, does not it mean that your  payment was not applied towards the  said add-on properly? Granted the Public Mobile software is glitchy as of today, 

but  you liked  the idea of paying less, did not you? And you are an intelligent creature, able to outsmart a  glitchy software, so why did not you check if it was applied properly, at least once?

It would take only 1  min of ur time extra..
