US Roaming not working - Android (Samsung)

kamping1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

I have tried to connect with my purchased US Roaming package (Talk and Text only) but get the message "Not registered on Network". I don't even see the network being avaiable.

As per the chat-bot troubleshooting, I turned on Data Roaming and tried to create a new connection. No luck.

It then asked for me to reset all my network settings - done.

I'm not sure what to do next. Help, please.

@softech

No one knows everything, your right,,

i'm also learn from everyone in here,and i appreciate it very much and i do my best to try to help any OP.

@Timer  You were a Mayor before, too

When someone points out something I said wrong, I will humbly accept it and make note of it.   I will remind myself, there is no point to defend my own silly reply as it was a wrong suggestion.    I will make sure I don't make same mistakes next time.

No one knows everything, and I surely know nothing about phone too.  That's why I still cannot resolve OP problem.  But I will also make sure I don't suggest unrelated fix as it will just waste OP's time and will just make OP more frustrated.

and you are a Mayor in here but you can't solve the issue.

Yes, Mayor is no one, even a Prime Minister knows nothing and cannot solve any issue.

But I learn from everyone here, mayors, great citizens, good citizen... , I learn from all of them.   And I don't feel negative here.    Afterall, we all try to help OPs, right?

@softech

why are you negative with me,
and you are a Mayor in here but you can't solve the issue.

i'm not given wrong info,

as i tell before when i read the OP do reset network, then i think the APN is wrong and not problems if can check it.

I think if there is no idea, it's better to keep quiet and not reply than giving out wrong info.  Afterall, we should not just reply anything to bring up the post count

Yes APN setting is not a cause to not connecting  the network

@computergeek541

ok,,my apologies.
but what you think how is will be connecting to the network, and the OP tried SIM card in other device is same issue.

@Timer wrote:

@kamping1

check this APN settings

select your device modal to get customized,

@computergeek541

because OP did reset all network settings,maybe something missing.

As stated before, APN settings can't possibly fix an issue of the phone not connecting to the network. This can't do anything but waste the customer's time and possibly make the person even more frustrated.

@kamping1

and no luck, oh waiting for support team.

Yes, this is the only one that sees a network. I have been using it this whole time.

@kamping1

select  GSM/HSPA/LTE

kamping1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

I only have the following options...

GSM/HSPA/LTE

GSM/HSPA

GSM only

HSPA only

No networks are available without LTE.

@kamping1

How to Switch  3G - Samsung Galaxy S10e

and select  AT&T  or  T-Mobile

adn turn off device and turn on.

kamping1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Network mode is set to GSM/HSPA/LTE (auto connect).

Phone is the Samsung Galaxy S10e.

kamping1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Done.

@softech

@kamping1  tried SIM card in other device is also not working so maybe something going in account.

they right Add-ons is showing in account but is not Connection.

@Timer  That can also confirm it's a waste of time to check the APN settings.  Again, APN won't affect if you can connect to a network or not

@kamping1   make sure you preferred network type is NOT set to 3G Only, it should be setting to the one that has everything (LTE/WCDMA/GSM), this allow the phone to choose the network type it can use

BTW, what brand and model is your phone?

@kamping1

give a shot to contact to support to check out your account,

kamping1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Unfortunately not.

@softech

@kamping1  tried SIM card in other device is also not working so maybe something going in account.

they right Add-ons is showing in account but is not Connection.

Checked: phone is clean

Near Plain, WA

Yes, T-Mobile and AT&T show in the Available Networks list. Tried both with the same result.

@kamping1   don't waste time on APN, you are on the wrong direction at the moment.  Need to get you to connect first

Does your phone sees T-Mobile network?  There is T-Mobile 2G and LTE network. in Leavenworth, WA.  If possible you need to connect to T-Mobile more than AT&T because of the voice.   AT&T network likely cannot provide you the voice

Check if your phone is blacklisted in US.  The fact that it connects to AT&T briefly but unable to register to the network, it is not a good sign. Please check https://imei24.com/check/usa_blacklist_check/

You can try to open ticket with PM Support, but the fact that the addons already showing up on your account, there is nothing much the support can help further.    🙂

My phone does not have a MMSC proxy to give it that IP address. It does have an MMS proxy.

@kamping1

then contact to support team by CS_Agent to check it your account.

@kamping1

check if your phone is blacklisted on the US network:

https://imei24.com/check/usa_blacklist_check/

Which city and state you are at?  Does your phone sees T-Mobile network ?

kamping1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Yes, physically in the USA (near Leavenworth, WA) and the coverage map shows I should get coverage.

No, the article does not help me. I tried these first.

@softech

so how to fix it then, and maybe device issue,

@kamping1   DO NOT touch the APN settings, there is no need to update it if you have used it in Canada without problem

I understand you have Reset network setting earlier, but there is really no need to spend time on APN settings in your case

@Timer   , as @computergeek541  mentinoed:  , incorrect APN settings would not cause a device to not connect to the base network or show a "not registered on network" message.

@kamping1 wrote:

This is the first time trying to roam outside of Canada - first add-on.

(I don't know what "add to tag OP" means).

@kamping1

OP just means "Original Poster" (you) :). I forgot to put your name in my post when I first posted it, so I made an edit to add it. You can ignore it, I was just trying to explain why I edited my post.

So you are physically in the USA then, right? I see you purchased and add these Roaming addons to your account successfully, so that is good.
