I have 2 plans, 2 different phones, Pixel 3, and a Note 9 Samsung. They were working last week on Sunday in Vegas, but when arriving back in Yuma AZ, the phones have no service. We have to drive out towards Winterhaven CA to get service. What is going on?

@kyoung88 No service, no data. on any band
Even without VoLTE, data and texting should still work so yes, something else is going on. You say others on PM are having problems, what about other carriers? Are there locals there whose phones are working and on what US carriers? I don't know if Public Mobile customer service would be able to do or find out anything since they are depending on the US roaming partners, but you could open a ticket via the chat icon bottom right of this page so that they are at least aware.

did you try all 3 providers? T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon

@kyoung88 T-Mobile has started shutting down their 2G network as of September 1st. It doesn't seem to have shut down all at once but more piecemeal. Have you tried setting the phone to 2G and connecting to T-Mobile? You didn't answer whether you have data and texting and just not voice calls, or whether nothing works. It makes a difference to the possibilities.

Yeah, the phones have been used down there the last 5 years, PM this year, usually did mint/google the other years. The PM was working perfectly fine from oct 1-December 22nd. Since last 3 days getting back to the winter house the phones have stopped working. Won't connect to either Tmobile, Verizon, and AT&T. Drive 20 minutes out of town, and it connects to Tmobile.
There are some others with apple phones on PM plans from canada also in the park with Zero service.

The phones have been in yuma working last year, and since October, they go down every year.. the family went to Florida for a cruise, back to vegas, then drove back to yuma. So oct 1st-December 15th the phones have worked in yuma. Back in yuma on the 22nd, they don't work unless leaving the town. So i don't buy that excuse of VoLTE

@kyoung88 Neither phone is approved for VoLTE on Public Mobile's list so when they were working it was possibly on T-Mobile's 2G network. You could try connecting to that manually. Otherwise if your phones aren't enabled for VoLTE by Public Mobile they won't work because there's no more 3G network in the USA. When you say no service, though, do you mean not even texts or data?

PM is relying on its roaming partners to provider services too, so it is more a US network issue
but did you try using all 3 networks? T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. PM uses 3 roaming partners in US to confirm bet possible network connection. So, if you don't see it working with one, try manually connect to the other 2. Also, lock the network mode to 4G or LTE for easier connection

Had they previously been working in Yuma?
Try resetting the network connections, or selecting another carrier which may display on your network list.
T-Mobile, or maybe ATT
