Hey everyone! I'm heading to the US soon and want to use my phone for calls as well as data. I have the $35 for the Canada-U.S.-Mexico plan.
The details about data usage while roaming are pretty straightforward, but what about making phone calls?
My Public Mobile plan has unlimited calling Canada-wide, but I'm unsure how it works while in the US. Can I call back to Canada free of charge? Can I make local phone calls while in the US?
I assume those are covered, but the terms and conditions are vague.
Thanks in advance.

as soon as you cross into (or land in) USA, you'll get a message "Welcome to USA" encouraging you to get a PM roaming add-on. Just ignore that nag as you already have the Cdn/US/Mx plan.

@CurtisY Yes iPhone 11 should be fine, PM approves VoLTE for anything iPhone 8 and newer.

Am I right in assuming that more phones are compatible than just that list? For reference, I have an iPhone 11.
hi @CurtisY
we have some reports saying some brands not on the list also capable of VoLTE.
But you can check. Make a call now, while still on the calls, check if the phone changed to 3G or stays on LTE or 4G. If it stays on 4G or LTE, then yours is VoLTE compatible with PM network

hi @CurtisY
what phone you have? it depends if yours can use VoLTE, it will be easy if it is. if not, you will need to use app to make calls
check the VoLTE list here

You can use it in both countries to call to and from talk text and data . Just remember when in the US to have data roaming turned on in phone settings . Also set your network to 4G/LTE not 5G and make sure your connected to T mobile or AT&T some have also confirmed that Verizon works in some places so just be sure to try all 3 and use what works best for you.

@CurtisY You have the same unlimited calling in both countries, the biggest caveat is that while Canada still has 3G, the USA doesn't therefore for calls to work in the USA you need a phone that is approved for VoLTE by Public Mobile.
