US Roaming Question

I currently have a Public Mobile 3G plan that does everything i want here in Canada.  However, I will be in the States this fall and would like to get a roaming add on.  However, does anyone have experience doing so with a 3G plan?  It appears there could be some issues.  Thanks

Thank you @Chalupa_Batman .  I followed your steps and my device seems to be on LTE now.  3G is the only other option shown, but i at least now know where LTE is. And the Roaming Connect toggle.  Thanks

  1. Swipe up to view the apps.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Network & Internet.
  4. Touch Mobile networks.
  5. Touch Advanced.
  6. Touch Preferred network type.
  7. Touch the desired option, e.g., 4G (recommended).
  8. The preferred network type has been changed.

HI @strom73

For roaming, no different with the plan you have.  You can use T-Mobile or AT&T 4G/LTE network once you have the roaming add-on

just need to make sure you connect to the T-Mobile or AT&T network.  And make sure you enable VoLTE and Mobile Roaming Data

Thanks, but how do I change my phone to LTE?

@strom73 There could be issues with voice unless you have voLTE enabled  . You can test this . First put phone  to LTE then making a call and see if it drops to 3G or will stay on LTE . If it stays in LTE voLTE is enabled . And you should be fine with US roaming add on
