I have a Canada, US, Mexico plan and am looking to travel in the spring,

Is there anything I need to do to ensure I don’t get roaming charges, or do I just keep using my phone as usual?

I agree, the whitelist was put together with members that had no problem.

What is the make and model of your phone so PM can update the whitelist?

When it comes to the whitelist ... Not necessarily... A lot of phones that are not on the list (like mine) just work perfectly. I would recommend going by the telus-tool to verify the status. There my phone shows up as supported. PMs list does not even list the brand I'm using.

Soooooo... Just as a suggestion...

for use in Mx, you don't need a VoLTE certified phone as Mx still has their 3g networks intact unlike in USA  where 3g has been retired. Make sure to enabled Data Roaming (just leave it on as there's no overages or extra charges with Public Mobile pre-paid service) To dial Canada from Mx, dial +1, area code, number. While in Mx, you might connect to AT&T, Telcel or Movistar....we have best service with AT&T.

Just make sure Roaming is enable in your phone settings.

Also, if you are going to the USA. Enable VoLTE (voice over LTE) but your phone must be on the whitelist for your phone to work.

nothing much to do, you want get extra roaming charge

Just make sure you turn on roaming mobile data.  Make sure your phone connects to AT&T or T-Mobile or Verizon if you are in US or AT&T or Telcel for Mexico.  You might need to manually connect, and connect using network mode 4G
