UMIDIGI C1 Max - won't connect with mobile data

Hi,

New problem. So my brand new Umidigi C1 Max phone won't connect to the net using mobile data. Only connects with wifi. It's running Android 12.

I see that Umidigi models have been the subject of these questions before.

Any idea how I can get it to connect with data? If it won't, then I guess it's going back where it came from. Is this something for a customer service agent to handle?

Thanks for any suggestions.

@steveb11   yes, Umidigi is a bit trouble  🙂

first make sure the OS is up-to-date

you likely need to create a new APN profile.  Check the full details at the end of the post

if you cannot access APN, like cannot create, cannot edit or save, you might need to use the Freedom sim card trick.  Get a freedom sim card from friend, insert into the phone and that would open up the APN screen

 

The full APN for PM you need to create the profile for:

APN: sp.mb.com
Proxy:
Port:
Username: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Server:
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMS Proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca
MMS Port: 8799
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication Type: Not Set
APN Type: default,supl,mms

         or    default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri

           (might need to include dun for hotspot)
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled

                or  Turn APN on/off APN turned on

Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO (Mobile virtual network operator) type: GID
MVNO (Mobile virtual network operator)value: 4D
