I will travelling to Rome, Italy for three days in October and then doing a 10 day Mediterranean cruise. l understand my phone will not work outside of Canada and the USA. Will l still be able to use wifi? My Samsung phone is not esim compatible. Can l purchase a International sim card here in Canada before l go? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Simcorner, I had very good experience while traveling in Europe last couple of times.

You should be able to use Wifi with local connection.

No Europe travel experience.  You could purchase an European SIM card here before you go.  Amazon and stores like Best buy do sell them.  Looking online, it may be cheaper to purchase a local SIM card when you first land in Europe.

hi @JoeS17

yes, you can still use Wifi.  Wifi itself does not tie with sim card or your mobile provider.

and yes, you can buy international data sim to use it.  YOu can buy ahead via Amazon, or cheaper to buy locally when you are there
