Subscription says "unlimited international text and picture messaging"

Hi all - seems I am traveling to Europe and North Africa and am unable to receive SMS text messages.  The subscription plan says "unlimited international text and picture messaging", so I assumed I would be able to receive as I had as a (previous) customer of Telus and Koodo.  Is this a case of not reading the fine print, or do I need to contact support?  has anyone else been able to receive SMS text messages while traveling outside of N America?  thanks in advance.

You're right - I had not made that clear enough.  they responded as you said.  not possible.

So I will now have to find a way to transfer my eSim to my wife's phone (in canada) so I can receive the SMS text to transfer the number to another service - perhaps Koodo or Telus or maybe an alternative.

Thanks for your reply.  i hear what you are saying but i am not giving up so easy.  I have contacted support and will update my OP with the answer from them (they responded much quicker than I expected)

if you are outside of North America, you won't receive text at all as there is no roaming service.  Not sure why support ask you to reboot the phone, that won't help if you are not in North America

Thank you for your reply.  I have contacted support and they replied very quickly.  they did not tell me that it would not work.  They told me they made a change to my account and i needed to turn my phone off then on again in 5 minutes.  So I am hoping that i will again be able to receive SMS texts.

@jenkinsles  Public on has roaming in the  US and Mexico , for your. Trip you will need travel eSIM or local pre paid sim in your destination

@jenkinsles  Public Mobile only works in Canada (and the US and Mexico with certain plans or add ons), you can't receive texts when elsewhere except for the USA (not sure about Mexico now).  The unlimited messaging is for when you are in Canada.

the unlimited international text and picture messaging is for you to receive them when you are Canada, ie, you can receive text from your overseas friends when you are in Canada

When you travel, you need roaming service.  However, PM only has roaming services for US and Mexico.  When you are in Europe, you will need to use Travel esim or local data sim to get connected
