Travel to US which add on ?

Hi everyone,

I am travelling to US tomorrow and would like to know which add-on to add so that I can make calls in the US to US/Canadian phone numbers (my daughters are coming with me so I would like to be able to call their phones as well if needed).  My plan is 20GB 4g unlimited Canada wide talk and text plus unlimited international text and picture messaging.

I was in the US last year at this time, bought my add on but it was not working.  I would just like to make sure I am getting the correct add-on.

If you want talk, then your options are the $15 bundle or the $30 bundle, with the former not including any data. As @softech said, you need to ensure your device is VoLTE compatible on Public Mobile's network though.

Side note, but depending on what you're currently paying for 20GB, it might not be much more to switch to a plan that includes US roaming as part of the plan (i.e. no add-on required). Some even include roaming in Mexico.

@Neda2 what phone do you have? because US has retired 3G network, only those with VoLTE and  also on PM's VoLTE whitelist  ( https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/volte) would work in US

Generally, if your phone is one on the whitelist, buying the Roaming Talk/Text would be sufficient.  But if you phone not on the whitelist or without VoLTE at all, or to be safe, you should buy the Talk/text/data roaming bundle as it allows you to use data to make calls as backup.  You can use VoIP app like Textnow or use app like WhatsApp to make calls with mobile data
