Transferring phone number from Koodo

Hi.  I am new to PM.  I am trying to activate my phone line and port my phone numbers from Koodo over to PM.  The PM app is showing my Koodo number but it seems to be not working.  Just trying to see how I can get help from a moderator.  Thanks.

@HALIMACS- And I'm truly only deducing. It's the Telus umbrella.

I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t know @dust2dust  🙂

Sure, I fully believe any number that can work on Koodo should absolutely work with public mobile.

There was a small part of me which wondered whether that absolute rule may only hold true for the prepaid Koodo services, since they share the same backend systems as PM.

Guess both post and pre-paid.

@HALIMACS- Doesn't it stand to reason though? Deducing the fact? Apparently it's a rate centre thing. The big 3 have their set of numbers that they can use or not use in a specific rate centre (that is outside of their realm of control).

@dust2dust

That’s the messaging for sure.

I’ve wondered, though, does that hold true for ALL numbers on Koodo, whether they originated there or were ported there from outside TELUS group?

Then again, did you confirm the text? Was the Koodo account active (needs support if not)? Did you reboot? esim or physical sim?

It's post paid.  I have sent an email to the CS_agent.  Thanks.

@Chalupa_Batman- There would be no reason a number currently on Koodo would not work here.

Hi @lee817888 Use this link to find out if you can port the number yourself.

https://secure.koodomobile.com/checktransfereligibilityparrot/default.do

If it says no then you will need the assistance of a Customer Support Agent which a link can be provided to you IF needed but let us keep trying to help you. A Customer Support Agents is a last resort.

@lee817888 Koodo prepaid will require you to contact CS AGent to help.  See this article for details.

@lee817888

If you Koodo SIM is not working then porting over to PM is completed. The next step is to power off your phone then switch to the PM SIM and power back on the phone.

Koodo prepaid needs support.
Koodo postpaid should be able to work. Did you leave the old sim in a phone to confirm the text?

@lee817888

To contact a Customer Support Agent, there are 2 methods: (recommend option # 2)

  1. Use the ticketing system for a faster response time. Click here and type Customer Support Agent, then select Contact Us, then select Other (or the topic that more closely matches your request).  Click the result which states Click here to submit a ticket and follow the prompts,  or,

  2. Send a private message to the Customer Support Agent by clicking here  You’ll need to be logged into your Community account for the link to work.

Watch for their response in your Community private mailbox which will be indicated by a number on the small envelope icon to the left of your Community avatar.

Is it Koodo post or pre paid @lee817888 ?

@lee817888 , this may be a silly question but have you reset your network settings & rebooted you phone?

Edit: Also, are you using an eSIM or SIM Card with Public Mobile?
