Transferring SIM number issues

I transferred my mobile number to PM from another service provider but did not respond to the SMS i got rom the previous one. Now my Public mobile sim does not work. How to resolve the issue?

@Nrdkl  - were you able to get your porting issue sorted out?

 

If you missed this 90 minute window, submit a ticket via this link to re-initiate the port:

If you just ported your phone number from another cell provider it could take a few hours to complete the port.

Using the other cell provider's SIM you should be still receiving calls on it, until the port completes.

 

Landline/voip numbers take 3+ days to complete. 

 

Make sure you do not cancel your previous provider's services.

Incoming calls are usually the last to port over.

EDIT, you should be able to have some/most services if you were charged for the SIM card activation.

 

Some troubleshooting to do/try:

 

*turn off your phone, leave off for a few minutes, then reboot

*removing your SIM, then reinserting it

*go into airplane mode, then going back to regular mode

*reset network settings on your device

*Is your phone locked? Contact your previous provider to unlock it for you. You will need your imei number, dial *#06# to get it.

If your pm sim card does not work at all you need to contact customer support first. Put "sim card not provisioned upon activation" in the subject line and leave a detailed message

 

Once they provision the sim card for you and your pm services are working you can then get the CSA to reinitiate the porting request. Put your old sim card back in your phone at that time and eply YES to the PAT (porting authorization text) within 90 minutes of receiving it. You can then put your pm sim card back in your phone and your port will complete within a few minutes to a maximum of 2 hours.

 

Keep an eye on the envelope icon at the top right corner of your screen next to your avatar for a little number to pop up indicating a reply from a CSA. Responding promptly will speed up service times but expect a reply within an hour.

If you missed the text to confirm you are porting your old number to PM or missed replying within the 90 minute window.

 

You will need to contact a CS_Agent to restart the porting process for you by private messaging or chat on this page.

@Nrdkl   What you meant by your PM SIM does not work?  can you at least make outgoing call and mobile data works?  These 2 things should work even porting is not completed

 

Yes, you missed the text.  No worry, there is a phone number you can call and talk to live person and have them to re-trigger the process.   I will message you the phone number.   Please check your Community inbox , envelope icon on top right
