For a reason, my phone number changed and I want to have it back. I was wondering how to do that.

@Timer- But as often happens, we haven't heard anything new from the OP from hours ago to know what the problem is. There are several scenarios where the support people will be of no help. So why send the customer off to them to waste their time and the customers time when they may very well be of no help. Yes, sure, the support people are paid to tell people they can't help them. But the customer wants to know the right direction to pursue. Not wasting their time going down blind alleys. That is very frustrating for the customer.

Can you provide more details about your situation @TonyWaffo; when did you have it last, and with what provider?

If you ported a number from another provider, is that provider's account still open? What happens when you call that phone number....does anyone answer?

Restart the porting process with a CSA, if this is your case:

Public Mobile Representatives customer support agents (CSA) can be contacted by either two methods, found here:

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/contact-an-agent

Or, if you changed your number with public mobile somewhere along the way, don't get your hopes up. But you can try and inquire about it by contacting CSA by methods in above link.

for a reason or no reason, we all member in here customer like you,

@Timer- Yes we are. But some of us like to know why and how people come to have their problem so as to help others in the future and to learn from the experience. Rather than just always telling seemingly every customer to contact the support people for every possible question. We would all have no purpose to be here if all we did was tell everybody to go to the support people. It seems that for many regulars here that that is a satisfactory way to respond here.

Contact support, next, contact support, next, contact support, next - ad infinitum, ad nauseum

How exceedingly boring and a colossal waste of ones time replying to every question with the same reply.

@TonyWaffo how was this changed?

did you request change number  yourself?  if you did, when did that happen?

Was it supposed to be a porting , you joined PM and have been a month?  And porting didn't go through and now PM assigned you a new number?

Lastly, give us your area code, and the 3 digits after the area code.  Will try to look up which carrier owns the phone numbers and see if there is anything you can do

And of course, before you go further into this call that number, if it is re-assigned, you are out of luck

Did you switch yo public mobile just over 30 days ago and port your phone number in? Did you reply YES to the PAT (porting authorization text) within 90 minutes of receiving it? Or not? Did you notice you didn't get many incoming calls? Check with hour old provider to see if you still have an active account?

Public Mobile automatically reassign a new phone # to accounts after 30 days of a port is not completed. You can port your number in again thru the change number feature in your self serve account but your old account must be active unless its a koodo or telus. If you no longer have your sim card you will have to verbally authorize your port request.

You have to clarify your statement.

If you closed your PM account and opened a new one, you cannot have your old number back as it was reassigned.

If you are opening new PM account you can port your number from current provider.

Otherwise PM does not randomly change customer's phone numbers.

"a reason"? What reason?

If you can give us the first 6 digits of the number you lost then we can see what company "owns" it.
