Last week I subscribed to public mobile using an esim during black friday. I've now received a new phone, and with it a public mobile physical sim.
I've put the new physical sim in the new phone, and logged into my public mobile account, but I don't see an obvious way to activate my account from the sim card I have in my phone.
I realize that with an eSIM to eSIM transfer, I'd need to buy a new eSIM, but I had thought a physical sim would work for me here. Is this not right?

This worked more or less as intended, thank you!

OP subscribed to PM last week already, the step to activate is not needed and in fact would confuse OP more as OP might think he needs to new account.

Hi @Mr_Money_Socks ,
I can see that this can be confusing. I totally understand. The physical SIM will work just fine and I would recommend it over the eSIM because the Pysical SIM can always be swapped into another other phone (if ever you choose to buy a new device) whereas the eSIM can't be transferred.
Here are the general steps to activate your account:
This is another article that might help you throughout the process as well: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/qc/get-help/articles/transfer-your-number
Have you begun the activation process?

@Mr_Money_Socks so, you can login My Account without issue?
To update your physical sim card number, go to Profile page, click the pencil besides sim number and update
