One of the benefits of eSIM, in my opinion, is portability. Apple allows an eSIM to be saved to iCloud so that if my phone breaks, is stolen, or is otherwise replaced, I just sign in to iCloud, et voila, everything just works. Public Mobile, however, does not currently allow this (or any form of eSIM transfer), so you need to pay $5 to receive a new QR code. Hopefully this changes!

You need to make a new $5 eSIM purchase on the Pixel 8 because eSIM is not transferable like SIMs.

Just login to your account and make the purchase from the Pixel 8.

eSIMs are non transferrable. You will need to purchase a new eSIM or purchase a physical SIM card.
