My account deactivated after the credit card expired. Trying to get a new subscription and it tells me my SIM is already in use. How do I proceed ?

Is your account suspended or deactivated? Did the account go without active service for more than 90 days?

If yes then you need a brand new sim card to activate with a new account.

If you are unsure try calling 611 from your phone with your current sim card or 1 855 4PUBLIC from another phone and enter your 10 digit phone #. If they can't find your account it's deactivated. If you get your account info then pay and reactivate your account t.

hi @Kenzie1

sim card cannot be reused for another new activation

fastest is to buy a new Public Mobile sim card from Telus or Koodo stores around for $10

cheapest is to get it from Amazon for $5
https://www.amazon.ca/Public-prepaid-postpaid-Activate-Allinone/dp/B06X9ZGDWG

and don't buy online from PM as it could take long to deliver

of course, you can also use esim if your phone has esim

Not sure why my comment went to the unmonitored section as there was  some solid info there. You need a new SIM card to start an account. SIM cards are 1 time use only.

To get a new SIM card the fastest routes are these.

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/pick-up-SIM - Find a local store in your area.

Amazon - Here you can get it cheaper and maybe a few days wait $4.99

Hello @Kenzie1

SIM cards are a 1 time use only. You have to either purchase a new SIM card or eSIM for your phone if it's compatible.

Now, depending on when your subscription expired, you have 89 days to get the same account/plan/phone number if you want. You just need to log into your account and update your credit card. Or if there is a better plan out there than your other one and you don't care about your previous phone number, that would be a way to go. Just know you will need a new SIM card.
